The French MENA director’s visit to Bahrain (10th to 12th of february)

The Middle East and North Africa director from the French ministry for foreign Affairs, Mr Paoli, came to visit Bahrain from 10th to 12th of February, within the frame of the "Sherpa meetings" arranged by the International Institute for Strategic Studies in Manama, which gathers high-ranking officials from various countries.

Mr Paoli also had the opportunity to meet the local authorities and a few personalities from the civil society throughout these days.

The MENA director reiterated France’s support to Bassiouni ’s report and our commitment to the implementation of its recommandations. He also stressed our wish for the setting up of an all-embracing dialogue.

Mr Paoli expressed his concern towards the latest clashes in Bahrain and called all the parties for showing restraint and calm while renewing France’s commitment to freedom to demonstrate peacefully.
